What Are Trophies in 2048.now?

Trophies are permanent milestone markers in 2048.now. Your total is the sum of ten independent category scores, and that total is what sets your military rank. Each category awards trophies in steps of 10, from 10 at the entry threshold up to that category's ceiling. You are always credited with the highest step you have ever qualified for, so a category score can rise but never fall. The ten categories are speed, efficiency, experience, equipment, mastery, win streak, arena, difficulty, endurance and achievements.

The 10 trophy categories and their thresholds

Every category is capped, and the caps are not all the same — four categories are worth 150 trophies each, one is worth 120, and the remaining five are worth 100.

Speed is the one category with a public reference point: the fastest verified win on each grid size is published on the 2048 world records page, so you can see what the top of that category looks like before chasing the 90-second step.

The trophy ceiling

Add the ten caps together — 150 × 4, plus 120, plus 100 × 5 — and the maximum any account can hold is 1,220 trophies. The top rank, General, needs 1,200. That 20-trophy margin is the single most useful number on this page: it means the highest rank is not reachable by excelling in one area, and it explains why the time to rank up stretches so sharply at the top of the ladder.

How trophies map to rank

Your rank is read straight off the total: Private at 0 trophies, then a new tier every 100 — Private First Class 100, Corporal 200, Sergeant 300, Staff Sergeant 400, Sergeant First Class 500, Master Sergeant 600, Warrant Officer 700, Lieutenant 800, Captain 900, Major 1,000, Colonel 1,100 and General 1,200. Rank is recalculated after every game rather than stored, which is why it updates the moment a threshold is crossed. That first 100 also carries a practical unlock: posting in the global player chat opens at 100 trophies, and stays read-only below it.

Why multiple categories?

Ten independent categories mean players who focus on different aspects of the game — score-chasers, speed runners, Arena specialists, collectors — all convert their strength into rank. No single category dominates, and because each one is capped, no amount of grinding one mode substitutes for breadth. Once you have taken the 150 available from experience, further XP earns nothing at all toward rank.

Trophies are permanent. Once earned they never disappear, regardless of future game results or season resets — which is why your rank can never decrease.
