Key Points

  • Season leaderboards track the fastest times across ranked games played during the season window - they are separate from all-time records.
  • Both Classic 4x4 and Large 5x5 modes have independent season leaderboards. Each difficulty also has its own ranking.
  • The season leaderboard resets at the start of each new season - past seasons are archived and remain viewable.
  • Your personal best each season is your single fastest ranked time for each difficulty-mode combination.
  • Season rankings contribute to the monthly Championship - strong season performance directly impacts your championship score.

How Seasons Work

1
A new season begins each month. Each season runs for approximately one calendar month. At the end of a season, the leaderboards freeze, results are archived, and new boards reset to zero for the next season.
2
Every ranked win is a potential leaderboard entry. You do not submit to the season leaderboard manually. Every ranked win is automatically evaluated - if it is faster than your current season best, it updates your position.
3
Play all three difficulty modes to appear in more categories. Season standings exist separately for Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert in both Classic 4x4 and Large 5x5. Playing across modes multiplies your chances of a high-ranking finish.
4
Focus on Expert for the highest impact. Expert season rankings are the most watched and directly drive Championship placement. If you have time for one difficulty this season, Expert gives the most competitive exposure.

When Do 2048 Seasons Reset?

Each 2048 season runs for roughly one calendar month. When a season ends, the season leaderboards freeze, the final standings are archived for viewing, and a brand-new board resets to zero for the next season. Your single fastest ranked time in each difficulty and mode carries you on the board until someone beats it or the reset arrives, so an early strong time can hold a top placement all month. You can review the exact dates on the Season Leaders board.

2048 Season Rewards Explained

Season rewards are paid out on a fixed end-of-season schedule based on your final placement in each difficulty and mode. The faster your best ranked time, the higher your rank and the larger your reward. Strong season finishes also feed directly into the monthly Championship score, and Premium members earn double season points plus exclusive seasonal badge frames. Pro Tips
  • Large 5x5 leaderboards are often less competitive. Fewer players specifically play Large 5x5 ranked - a strong time early in the season can hold a top-10 position all month with little competition.
  • Your position can drop without you playing. Season leaderboards are live - other players may push you down during the month. Check your standings weekly to decide if you need to set a better time.
  • Past seasons are permanent records. Your all-time best season performances are archived and visible on your profile - they are a lasting record of your improvement over time.
