What Can You Trade on the 2048 Marketplace?

  • The Marketplace is a player-to-player exchange — you buy from and sell to other players, not the platform. Prices are set by the community.
  • Only gems can be traded. Coins, hints, boosts, and equipment are not transferable between players. Why equipment cannot change hands.
  • The Best Offers sort finds the cheapest price-per-gem across all listings. Use it when you know what gem you need.
  • When selling, check what others are listing the same gem for before setting your price. Underpricing by 5–10% typically sells faster than matching the market.
  • Listings remain active until sold or cancelled. There is no expiry — but the market price may shift over time, making your listing less competitive. Gems come from quest rewards — see how to earn each gem type if you are short of one.

How to Trade Effectively

1
Buy when you have a specific gem target. The Shop only stocks four gems at fixed prices — Garnet, Topaz, Amethyst, and Emerald. Everything else, including the Sapphires and Diamonds that Legendary crafting recipes need, has to come from quest drops or from another player here.
2
Sell excess gems from quest drops. High-level quests frequently drop gems as Slot 3 rewards. If you have surplus Garnets or Rubies beyond what you need, list them for coins rather than hoarding.
3
Split large quantities into multiple listings. Listing 1 gem at 200 coins sells faster than listing 10 gems at 200 coins each. Buyers with limited coin budgets will clear small listings first.
4
Check Completed tab to gauge fair market price. The Completed tab shows recent actual transaction prices — this is the most reliable signal for what the market will actually pay today.
Pro Tips
  • Garnet prices fluctuate most. Garnet is the most common gem drop from quests, so supply spikes after events when many players complete quests simultaneously. If you are buying Garnets, wait a day or two after a major event ends.
  • Diamonds are tradable — but check your recipes first. Diamond is the rarest gem tier and every Legendary crafting recipe needs one: the Diamond and Cosmic board skins, Cosmic tiles, and the Diamond avatar frame. Sell a Diamond only once you are sure you do not want those items — a Legendary unlock is worth +1,000 equipment score against +10 for a Common, so rarity feeds your trophy count as well as your look.
  • Higher rarity gems sell for far more. Garnet sits at rarity 1 while Diamond sits at rarity 5, and rare gems drop far less often from quests, so they command much higher coin prices. Prices are player-set, so open the Completed tab to see what Sapphires and Diamonds actually sold for before you list one.
