Merge ledger

2048 Score Calculator

Every merge scores the value of the tile it creates. Enter how many of each result tile you made, and this ledger will total the exact points from those merges.

Tiles created by merges

Count result tiles, not tiles currently left on the board. Start with the smallest tile and work upward. A replay log gives the most complete count because an older result tile may merge again later.

Plan the baseline for one target tile

This separate planner assumes every starting tile is a 2 and counts only the merge chain used to build the selected target.

How the exact calculator works

The score rule is direct: multiply each created tile by the number of times you created it, then add those subtotals. If a game created ten 32 tiles and three 64 tiles, those rows contribute 320 and 192 points.

Why the final board is not enough

A board screenshot shows what survived, not every merge that happened earlier. Two games can finish with the same highest tile and different scores because their side chains took different paths.

How the target baseline works

A target worth 2n built only from spawned 2 tiles passes through n−1 scoring levels. Each level contributes the target value in total, so the baseline score is (n−1) × target. A 2048 tile therefore represents 10 × 2048, or 20,480 merge points under this clean assumption.

What the estimate excludes

Real games also spawn some 4 tiles, which skip a bottom-level merge, and they create side chains unrelated to the final target. Use the merge ledger for an exact total when you have the full merge counts.
