2048 Equipment Quality Tiers

Equipment in 2048.now comes in five quality tiers, indicated by a colour border on the item card:

The five tiers

• Common (grey) - Basic designs, no animated effects. Obtainable from daily quests and the Shop with coins. The starting tier for most new players.
• Uncommon (green) - Slightly more detailed art, still no animation. Regular drop sources and affordable in the Shop.
• Rare (blue) - Notably better visual quality. Some items in this tier feature subtle effects. Available in the Shop and as rank milestone rewards.
• Epic (purple) - Animated effects, unique design language, and higher visual fidelity. Drops primarily from Arena performance and seasonal events.
• Legendary (gold) - The rarest tier. Premium animated effects, exclusive designs not available in any lower tier. Obtained through top Arena placements, championships, and rare quest chain completions.

Do higher tiers perform better?

No - All tiers are purely cosmetic. A Legendary board skin does not improve your score, win rate, or any game metric compared to a Common skin. The quality tier affects only visual appearance.
